The Year 7 high school maths course in Perth covers a range of mathematical subjects including number and algebra, geometry and measurement, statistics and probability. This will involve students studying topics such as basic operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages; understanding the relationships between algebraic expressions; learning how to solve equations; working with angles, triangles and other geometric shapes; analysing data using tables, graphs and charts; drawing conclusions from the results of experiments; and calculating probabilities.
In order to effectively study for Year 7 maths in high school it is important to practice regularly. Students should review their notes thoroughly after each lesson, undertake regular revision sessions where they can identify areas where they are struggling, use online resources to supplement their studies such as online quizzes and practice tests, and form study groups with classmates to help each other out.
Whether or not a student should get maths tutoring in high school depends on their individual needs. If a student is struggling to keep up in class then hiring a tutor can be beneficial in providing additional support and guidance. It can also help them catch up on any missed lessons that could be holding them back. However, if the student is able to work through the topics independently they do not necessarily need to hire a tutor, as regular revision sessions may be enough to ensure that they are keeping up with the coursework.
